New Principal

Kellee Merritt, Principal

Ms. Kellee Merritt has been an educator for over 20 years serving in many roles. She began her career in Kokomo Schools where she was a teacher and then an assistant principal at both an elementary and a middle school. Following her time in Kokomo, she served as an assistant principal in Carmel Clay Schools for two years. It was during that time, that she was called to Washington Township Schools as a literacy coach at John Strange Elementary School and then Clearwater Elementary School. “Ms. Kellee Merritt has been in Washington Township for over 10 years and is passionate about building relationships and ensuring all students succeed,” said Director of Elementary Education Kimberly Piper. “Ms. Merritt has a clear mission and takes pride in the fact that her goal is to close the gap of learning for all students.  We can’t wait to have her at Spring Mill as the new principal!” Ms. Merritt received both her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and her Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Ball State University.
