Dear SM Bulldogs,

I am so excited to be serving as your Assistant Principal this semester at Spring Mill Elementary School. I look forward to meeting you all in person but, until then, here is a little bit about me. I taught for 15 years at Kokomo School Corporation. During that time, I taught grades 1-5, 2 / 3 split, 4 / 5 split, and finished my teaching career at their Integrated Arts school. I transitioned to an Instructional Math Coach at Clearwater Elementary School (John Strange) in Washington Township for the next three years. I was ready to begin my administrative career, so I accepted a position as the Assistant Principal at Hershey Elementary School with the Tippecanoe School Corporation for the past two years. Although I was happy at Hershey, I knew that Washington Township is truly the district that aligns with what I value as an educator. Therefore, I was very excited when the opportunity arose to return.

I reside in Kokomo with my husband Heath who owns his own construction company. We have four grown children (Kaitlyn, Zach, Kendall, and Taylor), our first grandchild Everett, and three dogs who are my constant companions when I am home. Heath and I are in the process of designing our dream home and plan on breaking ground on 40 acres in the country by the spring of 2023. I love to cook dinners for my family, spend time with Everett, play games, read, listen to books during my commute, walk my dogs, ride the motorcycle with Heath, and do yoga. One more bit of information as many of you are already wondering, my name is confusing! My full name is Lena Lou Ann Keeling. I have always gone by my middle name, Lou Ann, but my email will show my first name, Lena. Remembering names is difficult for me, so I will answer to either. I just wanted to clear that up right away, as I know this may cause confusion.

My door is always open, please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you or your students. Please know that you can always come to me with any concerns or questions that you may have. I have heard such amazing things about the teachers, staff, and students

at Spring Mill…I truly am excited to be a  Bulldog!
